An underground bluegrass night.
A collaborative performance featuring guzheng master Wu Fei and Grammy-winning banjoist Abigail Washburn. This duo project merges Appalachian and Chinese folk music, creating a musical dialogue that spans continents and traditions. Abigail Washburn, an innovative banjo player and TED Fellow, has spent years building US-China relations through music, while Wu Fei is a classically trained composer and virtuoso of the guzheng. Together, they weave elements of Chinese classical, folk, and opera with bluegrass and free improvisation to create a unique and unhurried sonic experience.
