An underground, nostalgic early music night.
As part of the 26th International Bach Chamber Music Festival, early music ensemble Ars Antiqua Riga, under the artistic direction of Pēteris Vaickovskis, performs surviving 16th-century vocal polyphony originating from the Livonian era in present-day Latvia. The programme centres on sacred works and motets by Riga Cathedral School cantor Paulus Bucenus Philorodus alongside Gregorian chant.
