A raw, nostalgic chamber music night.
A celebrated trio featuring violinist Isabelle Faust, cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras, and pianist Alexander Melnikov performs Beethoven's early piano trios. This performance marks the start of a special series where the trio presents all of Beethoven's piano trios over two days. The program highlights the composer's Opus 1, the three trios that introduced his genius to Vienna's musical scene and purportedly left his mentor, Joseph Haydn, feeling a touch of envy.
