Discophonic Orchestra
A nostalgic, uplifting disco night.
Discophonic Orchestra returns to Nieuwe Luxor with a full live celebration of disco and funk. The 30-piece orchestra brings the biggest disco hits of the 1970s and 1980s to the stage, featuring a large ensemble with ten strings, six horns, a rhythm section, and seven vocalists. The performance breathes new life into the sounds of the disco era, covering artists like Donna Summer, Barry White, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Michael Jackson. Founded in 2014 by jazz trombonist Lex van Wel, the project focuses on the orchestral richness and rhythmic energy that defined the 1970s dancefloor.
