A nostalgic, underground classical night.
A journey from the Danube to the Vltava, featuring masterworks by Johann Strauss II, Beethoven, and Dvořák. The program opens with the quintessential Viennese waltz, The Blue Danube, before exploring the surprising freedom and sublime sweetness of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 with soloist Seong-Jin Cho. The evening concludes with Dvořák's Symphony No. 8, a serene hymn to nature that balances the influences of Brahms and Tchaikovsky with the spirit of folk dance.
