A high-energy traditional folk night.
Orient Festival presents Stars in the Namibian Desert featuring the Namibian Folk Ensemble under the artistic direction of ethnomusicologist Perminus Matiure. The performance showcases authentic traditional songs, dances, and polyphonic makwaira choral singing from the Bantu peoples and ethnic groups of Namibia, accompanied by indigenous instruments including the mbira, nyunga-nyunga, chipendani mouth-bow, drums, rattles, and storytelling.
