Arch Enemy is a Swedish melodic death metal band, often referred to as a super group. The band currently consists of Michael Amott, Daniel Erlandsson, Sharlee D'Angelo, Alissa White-Gluz, and Jeff Loomis. Formed by Carcass guitarist Michael Amott and Johan Liiva, the ensemble has released ten studio albums, beginning with 1996's 'Black Earth'. The band achieved significant success in Japan early on, later charting across Europe and the US with albums like 'Anthems of Rebellion' and 'Doomsday Machine'. Their 2014 release 'War Eternal' marked their highest US chart position at #44. Following the departure of long-term vocalist Angela Gossow in 2014, Alissa White-Gluz stepped in as lead singer, maintaining the band's reputation for high-energy live performances.
