Cuban trumpeter and composer Kalí Rodríguez-Peña brings his ensemble, Mélange, to LunÀtico for a night of music that fuses traditional Cuban motifs with jazz classicism influenced by the likes of Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis. Born and raised in Havana, the Latin-Grammy nominated artist was mentored by Bobby Carcassés before moving to New York City to study under Jon Faddis and Stefon Harris. Rodríguez-Peña has shared stages with legendary musicians including Wynton Marsalis and Arturo O’Farrill. His music, characterized by a refined blend of his heritage and jazz traditions, has been featured on Showtime's “Let The Right One In” and across prestigious festivals in North America.
