An underground contemporary classical night.
The final concert of the 2026 George Enescu International Competition's Composition Section features a multi-part program. The evening begins with a Masterclass Concert in the foyer, showcasing works by composition masterclass participants under the direction of conducting students selected by Cristian Măcelaru. The main event follows in the concert hall with the Romanian Radio National Orchestra performing a diverse program of contemporary classical works, including pieces by Zygmunt Krauze, Sarah Kirkland Snider, Steven Mackey, and Doina Rotaru.




The competition is hosted at the Ateneul Român in Bucharest, with the composition finale scheduled for August 27, 2026.
The program features the Romanian Radio National Orchestra conducted by Marin Alsop, showcasing works by Zygmunt Krauze and others.
