Sarah Frei returns to Don’t Tell Mama with her new show, “How Lovely...”, One Night Only An intimate evening of story and song, featuring treasures of the American Songbook, Friday, November 13, 2026 NEW YORK, NY — [October 30, 2026] — Versatile singing actress Sarah Frei returns to the New York cabaret stage with How Lovely... (to be a woman like me), a new solo show, for one night only Friday, November 13, 2026 at Don’t Tell Mama (343 West 46th Street) on midtown’s Restaurant Row. Conceived of and directed by Sarah, with musical direction by James Bassi on piano, the 70-minute show traces her journey through all the slings and arrows of Real Womanhood. The story is woven around the frame of the song “How Lovely to Be a Woman”, from Bye Bye, Birdie!, Sarah’s first musical theatre production in middle school, revisiting the theme from the perspective of her teenaged Gen-Z daughter, a middle-aged single lady, and a independent, hopeful woman. Along the way, the story is spun by American Songbook standards, musical theater gems, and new songs written by contemporary composers Scott Wheeler and James Bassi. “This show feels like an enormous hug,” said Frei. “Jim and I have put together something meaningful, relatable (whether you’re a woman or just know one!), funny, and warm. I can’t wait to share this hour with you.” Performance Details What How Lovely... starring Sarah Frei Where Don’t Tell Mama, 343 West 46th Street, New York, NY When November 13, 2026; 7:00 PM – Doors open at 6:15 Tickets $25, plus a $20 2-drink food & beverage minimum.
