Silent Green Open Lab #9: JKZQ & franna
A homegrown, underground ambient night.
Silent Green Open Lab is a format dedicated to Berlin-based musicians and performance artists taking their initial steps onto the stage. JKZQ is a local duo comprised of Wang Ze-Qing and Jakob Stæterstad, specializing in improvisations centered on guitar distortion and mixing console feedback, blurring the distinction between digital and analog sound routing. franna explores the negotiation of polarity through sound, dialoguing field recordings, tapes, and gentle vocals with manipulated cello textures. Influenced by noise, ambient, and experimental pop, her performances traverse drones and structured song forms as an act of deliberate ambiguity.
