batalla is an incredible pieceso visually incredible, that I'm sure anyone who would watch would be captured by its aesthetics and pace, even without knowing what it representsi got the luck and honor to watch this at ica, with commentary from a member of the collective, that was explaining how this film has been made for the disappearance of the 43 students in mexico in 2014the sound is a recording of a ventilator attached to one of the students that was in a comathe visuals show a 'campesino' cutting marigolds (which is 'el dia de los muertos' flower) on a slow and repeating rhythm, in an almost alienating wayi dont need to add anything more that thiscinema is not dead yet

so at first when i watched this blind i thought it was the most random thing i've ever experienced but when i read about what it meanswhich from my understanding is about a boy who is in a coma and this is the sound of the ventilation thing attached and this movie tbh feels like a fever dream in a coma i am guessing this is supposed to be kinda like a dream state between conscious and unconscious although it was a weird one it the whole meaning combined with the dream like visuals make it very interesting
