I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this before but I work in an independent cinema and I have just seen this film in said independent cinema and I truly love my lifeAbsolutely hilarious this, Wes Anderson meets Richard Linklater meets The Big Lebowski meets a number of influences that I’m too new to cinema to know aboutFilms are often called “love letters to cinema” but you can feel it with this. Bloody lovelyAlso the fact that half the 35mm print got stuck in customs so we got treated to a lovely DCP-to-film transition just added to the whole vibe and experience tremendouslyEIFF 2025, world premiere in competition, with introduction from Mas Bouzidi and Max Madsen and post-film q and a with Mas Bouzidi, Rob Riordan, Jonathan Price, and Lana Rockwell. i really really hope this becomes at least somewhat big – because it's so so great, especially for a first feature.felt really close to rushmore / juno / napoleon dynamite – but still very original and clearly its own thing.please everyone watch this whenever it releases! the photography, characters and the writing all stand out as really fun and surprisingly high quality.so beautiful to see madsen as well.
