Buster Crabbe in dark makeup playing Chief Moya the same year he became Flash Gordon is definitely an odd sight 😅 You also get a super young Robert Cummings running around dusty canyons looking completely out of place. It’s mostly guys yelling from behind rocks and riding into sandstorms but the goofy tone makes it pretty easy to enjoy for what it is.
Buster Crabbe as a Native American chief. Yikes! But this is a pretty entertaining Western if you can get past details like that. Great setting in the Arizona desert.
oh to be a moviegoer in the 30s and laugh merrily as the film’s lead straight up kidnaps a bride-to-be and almost force feeds her bits of rabbit.
A mining engineer shifts his allegiance to help a native chief protect a guarded gold mine from a greedy land speculator.
Desert Gold was directed by James P. Hogan in 1936.
Desert Gold has a running time of 58 minutes.
