Timid dork Edie accidentally takes the spotlight when she starts a punk band with her fellow “turds”, becoming an icon to the rest of the losers at her all-girls Catholic school while managing to piss off the hot girls, the nuns, and the horniest altar boy you’ve ever seen.
No showtimes for Edie Arnold Is a Loser in Los Angeles today.

i just wish they had cast a few less massive stars, like seeing the guy who played the punk boy totally took me out of it cause all i could see was helena from the university of utah’s a midsummer nights dream.
A kick-ass punk awakening for a group of Catholic schoolgirls stuck in a world of conformity. This year has been treating us incredibly well with coming of age stories and Edie is a real standout example that brings a freshness to the subgenre.Absolutely loved the humor in this indie darling. Pretty reminiscent of films like Clueless, Napoleon Dynamite, and more recently, Booksmart. These venture far outside their comfortable pockets of society into worlds that promise pure exploratory individuality. They’re not without pushback and mistakes, but encourage a true sense of agency. Although I wish we had more moments with Edie and Frances hanging out, they really capture a lived history in a limited runtime. Filmmakers should take note of the two central actors; true talent. It’s a pivotal slice in these characters’ lives that hopes to shatter the mundane world that’s been forced onto them by the misguided.Really loved its playful editing, especially the inclusion of animated garnishes that fans of Scott Pilgrim will appreciate. Can’t wait to see what this team does next!
