Ghosts of corruption, superstition and sick society haunts the future of the next generation.
Rabia, a ten-year-old Pakistani girl sets out to find why her only school in the village is closed. This fable is a ghost story with a tinge of magical-realism that explores corruption from a child's perspective.

~ I Wonder How many Schools/Institutions exist only on paper embezzling funds , deliberately cutting off Education access to Girls and lower class children to keep them in the Dark & Maintain Social control !!! This is such a Good movie , I would recommend everyone to watch 💯~ Ending Scenes💚
TIFF #17As someone who’s passionate about accessible education, I was prepped and ready to be conceptually locked in for this film. Practically, however, the film felt unnecessarily drawn out (via repetitive conversations, or shots of Rabia, the lead, walking from one location to another) in ways that felt more like unnecessary lingering than intentionally included shots to convey a message or illustrate something more profound within the film. A few of the other reviews mentioned this, but I think this would’ve been very well served as a shorter feature, especially when the Director mentioned in the Q+A that she hoped it could be shown to children—as it is, the film takes a seemingly unnecessarily meandering route to lead its audience to its conclusion when a closer adherence to the straight line between Point A and Point B feels like it might’ve been equally as (if not more) poignant.
It follows a young girl in rural Pakistan who investigates why her village school has been mysteriously shut down.
It was directed by Seemab Gul, premiering on the international festival circuit in 2025.
