Even though it might be a “tweenager film” I feel like every age group will get something incredibly touching out of seeing this. Such nice weight and balance in children perspective. Wonderful!
Mira, a twelve-year-old girl, loves to make arts of recycled trash and spends hours together with her best friends Naja and Louis. One day everything changes when Naja becomes best friends with the new cool girl in class. Suddenly Mira feels left out and starts to wonder if she can stay true to herself, when everything and everyone around her seem to be changing. Should she skip her upcoming arts exhibition and instead try to be more like the other girls in class, talking about love and falling in love? Growing up can be a challenge sometimes…

Not sure what American 12 year olds are watching these days but I fear we've been values-mogged by the Danes
I love a good coming of age, tween drama type of movie and this one was great. When Beate was first introduced in class and there was that whole 🌬️✨😨🤩🌪️ moment I was like, this is hilarious because you all actually just look like children and if there was a police line up of the popular/unpopular kids I probably wouldn’t be able to pick anyone outAlso I fear if my child was ever like, “mommy I want to fit in” (in the superficial kind of way), I’d stare at them blankly. I guess I’d make them sit through this movie lol
It follows a twelve-year-old girl who navigates shifting friendships and pressures to fit in when her best friend bonds with a new classmate.
Mira was directed by Marie Limkilde as a sensitive Danish coming-of-age feature.
