The performance of a lifetime is given by Louise Lasser, spending half the film losing her mind screaming at a telephone operator or sitting piss drunk in front of a refrigerator piling leftovers in her mouth.I can relate to this.
Twins Todd and Terry seem like sweet boys -- that is, until one of them takes an axe to the face of a fellow patron at the local drive-in.

Louise Lasser sitting on the kitchen floor eating Thanksgiving leftovers straight from the refrigerator is so damn me I should sue somebody.I am so happy that it’s that time of year for my beloved Thanksgiving Terrors and Christmas Chillers! I love this movie and it’s apartment complex setting. I love identical twin killing sprees. Why is Todd cute but Terry not? They’re the same person! I love how that one woman lays out a bunch of different flavored schnapps to seduce her date and constantly refers to her actual baby as “Baby”! I love the diving board sex scene like think about it how incredibly uncomfortable and awkward would that be?! I love how the lower half of the severed torso keeps moving. I love Louise Lasser cuddling up to her dead fiancé but not quite as much as I love her reaction to knowing she killed the other son. I love this movie!Fun fact: I started my holiday drinking early.Spoiler alert: it’s not cranberry sauce
97One of those movies that you are always searching for, deep in the pit of your stomach, and then you see it across the woods and it's running and getting closer with a big gleeful smile and you embrace and it morphs all carnival and memory ala Vertigo for a few seconds and then before you know it your hand is sliced from your body, gravity taking your half-empty Old Style with you!!! It's only natural that the film's original (??) title is Slasher, because this pastel nightmare terror hang-out depression comedy is un-classifiable in spite of all my goofy adjectives. Both quiet and relentless in pacing, both humid and chilling in atmosphere, both hilarious and traumatizing in tone. This is one for the books and, from what I've seen, probably the greatest slasher made in the 1980s. It has all the junk you could want and then some (the gore effects are *incredible*), plus the added bonus of twisted, damaged melancholy and hysteria.
Identical twins Todd and Terry live a fractured life until a brutal murder at a drive-in cinema sets off a cycle of bloodshed and psychological unraveling.
John Grissmer directed the 1987 slasher feature, known for its practical gore effects and holiday setting.
