Gogglebox of Existential Dread
Last November, ten of the UK’s leading experts briefed an invited audience of over 1,200 politicians and leaders from business, culture, faith, sport and the media. The briefing set out the implications of climate and nature breakdown for health, food systems, national security and the economy. The People's Emergency Briefing presents the national implications of climate and nature breakdown - along with credible, positive responses - in a single, accessible account. A new film featuring Chris Packham, leading scientists, a former general and Jennifer Saunders - all being far too frank about where things are heading and what can be done about it.
People's Emergency Briefing is showing in 1 cinema in London - next screening Wednesday 21 October at 18:20 at Lexi Cinema.

Gogglebox of Existential Dread
Very sneakily skirmished around the fact we can’t fix anything without getting rid of capitalism! There is no long-term profit motive behind sustainability, so we need an economic system that doesn’t thrive off profits and eternal growth. Also one thing I didn’t know (because every time we discuss climate change we only focus on human problems), is that even if climate change became horrific and ended in mass extinction of humans and wildlife, good old Mother Nature would still be fine! I need to clarify I really don’t want humans or animals to go extinct - I just think it’s kinda hopeful that the Earth itself would be so fine after us.
show this on tv at 6pm now. put this on uk netflix lad. not sure what was going on with the posh people doing gogglebox in the middle but this film was really informative interesting and hopeful
