В англомовних титрах не переклали кожне «блять» на початку і вкінці речення пана Андрія. Це справді рідкісний ресурс, який втратить іноземний глядач)
the director’s disconnect from the actual reality of this place was fucking impressive. this sanatorium is a depressing, decaying shithole — but he blurred it all out and exploited it to create this fake, staged piece of “entertainment.” and those cheap, dumb melodramatic plotlines… and that over-the-top ending… man… + the mentions of the war and the military context felt like they were thrown in just to get the film into festivals or to secure some kind of funding. none of it felt sincere it’s also a perfect example of how some westerners love to exoticize the soviet past of ukraine — turning it into some kind of camp aesthetic instead of treating it as what it actually is: a space of trauma and unresolved problems
Despite a war raging nearby, mud treatments and therapies continue at a massive 1970s brutalist health facility on the shores of Odesa where visitors search for healing and connection.
Gar O'Rourke directed the 2025 documentary exploring daily life and resilience at a Ukrainian health facility.
