Ziemia obiecana
A critically acclaimed, spectacular drama.
At the turn of the century, Lodz, Poland, was a quick-paced manufacturing center for textiles, replete with cutthroat industrialists and unsafe working conditions. Three young friends, a Pole, a Jew, and a German, pool their money together to build a factory.

the wolf of wall street if it slayed
A film that paints the ruling class for what they are; perverse and treacherous. It's a great choice to have the frantic factory scenes scattered and juxtaposed to continuous bourgeois debauchery. It emphasizes the separation in the social strata and the inhumanity of capitalism well. I see some of the criticisms but there's no reason why this movie should have a lower avg rating than there will be blood.
Set at the turn of the twentieth century, the film follows three friends—a Pole, a German, and a Jew—who pool their resources to build a textile factory amidst cutthroat industrial competition.
Andrzej Wajda directed the 1975 historical drama, which is widely regarded as a major work of Polish cinema.
The film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film.
