Gaje Ajg
Felt basic in an interesting way.
Painfully slow drama about an artist's descent into madness. Good location in the form of an old English country house. Might have been OK as a short film. Trouble is, to pad things out, supernatural things start happening, e.g. strange knocking in the middle of the night, a door closing on its own. It might have been better if kept strictly psychological. The artist has a novelist friend stay with him and the dialogue is flat between them. The dubbing is a bit obvious at times. The last few minutes were OK, bleakly nihilistic, with a menacing soundtrack. But, overall, a flop. It made me think how someone like Pete Walker would have done it better.
