Director Jodi Wille had been working on this for so long and it was well worth the wait. An incredibly moving documentary. I talked to a Unarian member after the screening and she said emotionally, "This told our story." And it's a great story at that, The Unarians have such a rich creative output and their movie The Arrival is my favorite space movie. Welcome Space Brothers was able to capture that unique and colorful creative output while really getting into the lives of the people involved (along with some of the intense dynamics and conflict that occurred). At the Q and A after, The Arrival director who left The Unarians after he made it, said that this doc made him pick up his spiritual journey again decades later and affectionately rubbed the head of Kevin, a long-time Unarian, sitting beside him. Unlike so much media from before, this doc is not mean-spirited and portrays them in a realistic and inspiring light. UFOs are real!
