Christian Tetzlaff performs the UK premiere of Ondřej Adámek’s violin concerto 'Thin Ice' with Alain Altinoglu and the London Symphony Orchestra. Lineup on Mood.
An enticing, wintry new violin concerto by Ondřej Adámek contrasts with the glorious warmth of Mendelssohn’s uplifting choral symphony. Mendelssohn’s Symphony No 2, known as the 'Lobgesang' or 'Hymn of Praise', is a lyrical symphony-cantata featuring beautiful Sinfonias, dreamy arias, and rousing choruses originally composed to celebrate the anniversary of the printing press. The programme also features the UK premiere of Ondřej Adámek’s violin concerto 'Thin Ice', a fiercely imaginative and energetic work. Renowned violinist Christian Tetzlaff, who premiered the piece in 2025, joins the London Symphony Orchestra and Chorus for this spectacular performance in London.
The performance takes place at the Barbican Centre on Silk Street in London.
Conductor Alain Altinoglu leads the London Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, featuring soloist Christian Tetzlaff.
