2981 is a post-punk band based in Manchester, England. Comprised of Guy Denis-Bushell, Esme Watts and Elliott C. Forster. Initially formed as a 2 piece group in the street of Manchester's Northern Quarter during the summer of 2023, The songwriting partnership of guitarist/vocalist Guy Denis-Bushell and drummer Esme Watts soon blossomed. The band eventually transitioned into a 3 piece group approximately a year later, with the addition of bassist/guitarist Elliott C. Forster. Known for engaging in hypnotic trance-like live performances, which can occasionally border into a chaotic theatre/performance style. They have since become a mainstay of the Manchester independent music scene.
