Abi Moore is an independent Americana / Roots-Rock artist from Nottingham, UK. After a 10-year break from releasing an album, Abi is back for 2023 with a raucous return. A new DIY ‘stomp and holler’ sound pervades the first single (Livin' Underground)- driven by Abi’s powerful voice and signature backing vocals, bringing a roots-rock edge on distorted electric guitar. 2nd single Wake Up (Modernise Or Die) slams into early 00s garage-rock territory, with an urgent wake-up call for change within the political system. And just when you think you know where she's leading you, her 3rd single Apologies and Promises suddenly slams on the brakes for an intimate moment of heartbreaking defeat. Sparse, haunting solo piano, poignant lyrics of loss and a vulnerable vocal, despite their tenderness, hit hard. Abi sits somewhere all of her own, but in the same club as her contemporaries The Staves, Ferris & Sylvester and KT Tunstall. She began her songwriting as a shy child from Lincolnshire, armed with a cassette recorder she used to make up songs in the family kitchen. As a teenager, she rebelled against the academic life she was expected to follow. Instead she took her songs on the road and performed everywhere from Caffe Nero stores to Y Not, Maverick and Latitude festivals, to smoky saloon bars in Alaska, the Lincoln Center in New York City, even at the top of Machu Picchu, and has supported numerous household names (most recently opening for The Longest Johns at the Rescue Rooms.)
