As the renowned German Jazzthetik magazine put it, “Alex Koo defies categorization.” Quoted by many as a rising star in the world of jazz, he is also a recipient of several awards, such as a Fulbright Award, BAEF Music Fellowship, a Prins Bernhard Culture Prize and a first prize at the Prinses Christina Concours. His album ‘Appleblueseagreen‘, with American icons Ralph Alessi and Mark Turner, was praised by Downbeat Jazz Magazine and included in their list of ‘Best Albums of 2019‘.
