Alex Orange Drink

Alex Orange Drink, solo moniker of Alex Zarou Levine, is a Brooklyn musician recognized for his work as the lead singer and songwriter of The So So Glos. Levine is known for his streetwise and irreverent lyrics which are often laced into bright, hooky outsider anthems & have drawn comparisons from William Wordsworth to The Beastie Boys. A New York native of both Palestinian & Jewish descent, Levine was born with Homocystinuria, a life-threatening genetic disorder which keeps him on daily medication in liquid form — a flavored prescription he calls Orange Drink — from which his alias derives. Babel On (2018) & Everything Is Broken Maybe That's Ok, (2021) explore deeply personal themes, reflecting on mental health & societal issues. Levine is credited as co-writer & inspiration for Bright Eyes’ 2024 album Five Dice, All Threes. In June 2023, Levine was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, a rare & serious form of cancer. Despite undergoing grueling treatments, Levine channeled his experience into music, writing & recording 5 albums in the process - each a different genre, each representing a stage of grief in the Kubler Ross Model. All 5 albums release in 2025 on Conor Oberst's label imprint, Million Stars. Alex has consistently shown that music is more than an art form for him — it’s survival. He remains a vital, rebellious & unique voice in music as well as an influential performer and somewhat of a cult figure among the underground music community.
