For the 2026/27 season, it has been chosen as ECHO Rising Star, leading to performances in many of Europe‘s most renowned concert halls. The ensemble‘s growing international career has been shaped by major competition successes, including the second prize at the prestigious ARD Music Competition 2023 as well as the Grand Prize of the German Music Competition 2024. Johanna Schubert, Philipp Kirchner and Merle Geißler founded the Amelio Trio in 2012 at the age of 13 to participate in the German youth competition Jugend Musiziert and are playing together ever since. Today, having played together for over half their lives, their deep connection is unmistakable - captivating audiences with their seamless interplay, stylistic versatility, boundless curiosity, and their distinctive musical energy.
