From pole to pole and sea to sea, AMON AMARTH are the undisputed kings of Viking heavy metal. Formed in Tumba, Sweden in 1992, they’ve built a legacy of thunderous, anthemic metal steeped in Viking history, folklore, and culture. From their 1998 debut Once Sent From The Golden Hall to modern classics like Twilight Of The Thunder God (2008) and Jomsviking (2016), the band has become renowned for ageless anthems and explosive, theatrical shows. Whether headlining festivals or joining Slayer’s final U.S. tour in 2019, they’ve carried their music to every corner of the world with the spirit of true raiders. Their latest album, The Great Heathen Army — recorded with Andy Sneap — pushes their trademark sound into bold new territory, from the rallying cry of “Find A Way Or Make One” to the fury of “Saxons & Vikings.” One of metal’s most beloved bands, AMON AMARTH remain dedicated to forging new battle hymns for their global horde.
