Arrested Youth
Arrested Youth is the musical project of New York-born Ian Johnson, writing songs about the anxieties and contradictions of modern life. What began in 2017 as a post-grad reckoning – captured in breakout track My Friends Are Robots – has evolved into a catalog exploring digital-age disillusionment. From his debut Fear to Sobville (Episode I) and his studio album Nonfiction, Johnson's work asks what's left when we stop performing for screens and expectations. After touring extensively across North America, including shows with Twenty One Pilots, Johnson stepped away from music to focus on his health. That pause became the foundation for Too Late to Start Over, an album confronting lost time and the difficulty of beginning again. Arrested Youth makes music for anyone caught between who they were and who they're becoming.
