Askel & Elere are a Helsinki-based drum & bass duo known for their deep, melodic sound and a distinctly melancholic Finnish touch. Since 2018, they’ve been blending moody atmospheres with rich rhythms, drawing on everything from soul to punk to video game soundtracks. They’ve performed in places such as London, Amsterdam and Croatia, earned support from tastemakers like Pola & Bryson, Noisia and London Elektricity, and released on well-respected labels including Hospital, Soulvent and Delta9. They’re also a part of the new liquid collective Souled Out with their own show on IDA Radio. With Askel’s background in drumming and Elere’s roots in bass and vocals, their music strikes a balance between crispy percussion and emotional depth. It’s thought-provoking, tastefully textured, and ever evolving. Cold outside, warm in your ears.
