Atom Lux

Atom Lux, pseudonym and solo project of Lucio Filizola - Rome-based multi-instrumentalist, weaves together sounds and styles drawn from psych rock, alternative, garage, space, post-punk and prog-pop, creating a mix rich in groove, saturated and gritty guitars, acidic synths and surreal themes. Lucio’s relationship with music began at a young age and, when he was about 13 years old, he discovered rock'n'roll. As a teenager he immersed himself in writing and performing in various bands, eventually diving into the turbulent waters of progressive rock with Möbius Project, with whom he released the album Ra Me Nivar in 2014. After a break of a couple of years Lucio resumed writing music in 2020, moving toward psych, garage, alt and stoner inspired sounds. In 2023, he launched the solo project Atom Lux, producing music in his home studio and drawing lyrical inspiration mainly - though not exclusively - from surreal and absurd subjects. In December 2024, Atom Lux evolved into a five-piece live band. In October 2025, the project released its debut record Voidgaze Dopamine Salad, entirely produced - written, performed, recorded and mixed - by Lucio in his home studio. In February 2026, Atom Lux announced the release of Kamikaze Butterfly, a five-track EP due in June 2026.
