Babyshambles
Formed in spring 2004 as The Libertines began to fall apart, Babyshambles quickly became Pete Doherty’s outlet for his poetic, chaotic rock. The band’s early line-up settled with Patrick Walden, Drew McConnell and Gemma Clarke, releasing their debut 7" in 2004 and the single Killamangiro soon after. Following Clarke’s departure in 2005, Adam Ficek joined on drums. Their debut album Down in Albion, produced by Mick Jones, arrived in 2005, followed by Shotter’s Nation in 2007 and Sequel to the Prequel in 2013. Despite a turbulent history of cancelled gigs and headline-making chaos, Babyshambles built a devoted following and a catalogue of cult classics. After more than a decade away, the band returned in 2025 with the single Dandy Hooligan and a sold out UK tour featuring the classic line up of Doherty, Ficek, McConnell and Whitnall.
