The Barcelona Jazz Orchestra -Big Band Internacional de Barcelona- conducted by Dani Alonso, is made up of some of the best Jazz specialists in Catalonia. Currently considered one of the best big bands in Europe, she regularly performs at prestigious festivals accompanying famous figures such as Benny Golson, Frank Wess, Ann Hampton Callaway, Tony Hadley… He has recorded albums with Phil Woods, Nicholas Payton and Jesse Davis as special guests, and is about to release his fourth work, in which they pay tribute to Dizzy Gillespie, with the collaboration of Jon Faddis. The BJO performs regularly in the legendary Sala Apolo performing a repertoire of Jazz and Swing that transforms the well-known Sala del Paral·lel into the Savoy in Barcelona.

The Barcelona Jazz Orquestra is led by conductor Dani Alonso, and features musicians such as Matthew Simon, Ivó Oller, Jaume Peña, Alberto Pérez on trumpets; Josep Tutusaus, Jordi Giménez, Sergi Vergès on trombones; Ignasi Terraza on piano; Víctor de Diego and Xavi Figuerola on saxophones; and Jean Pierre Derouard on drums.
The Barcelona Jazz Orquestra was formed in 1996 from the Taller de Musics in Barcelona, Spain, and is deeply rooted in the Catalan jazz scene.
