Bella Unwin is a London-based electronic artist whose self-produced sound moves between intimate pop and quietly confident club music. Bella Unwin began making music at 19 in her bedroom in Kangaroo Ground, on the outskirts of Melbourne, where kangaroos grazed outside while she built early tracks in Ableton. Uploading to Triple J Unearthed led to support from Tim Shiel and features with Purple Sneakers and Pile Rats during her early lo fi bedroom pop releases. After relocating to London in 2017, she continued releasing independently, developing her live practice. Her first UK show was at Birthdays in Dalston, supporting Braille Face. She has since shared bills with WORLD BRAIN, Mermaid Chunky and Try Me. While her foundations are in synth led pop, beat making and electronic production sit at the core of her work. In 2022 and 2023, her more dance focused tracks received regular plays on BBC Introducing London and support on BBC Radio 1 Dance, marking a shift toward club releases. That progression extended into DJing, with sets across London and an appearance at Green Man Festival alongside The Social and PRAH Recordings. Balancing full time work and motherhood, Bella’s path has unfolded at its own pace. The result is a catalogue that blends melodic sensitivity with electronic precision, shaped by years of self taught production and a continued love of building songs from the ground up.
