Chia The Gift was born in South London. She is of Jamaican and Vincentian heritage. Growing up she always had this vibrant energy was able to command an audience from young. Her first experiences as an artist was when she went to Britains Got Talent in 2011 where she auditioned ‘Empire state of mind - Alicia keys’ though she didn’t make it to the next round it was still an amazing experience! During her childhood and adolescent years her influences were Alicia keys, Michael Jackson, Mary J blige , Burna Boy & there’s so much more. Due to her diversity she has created an authentic style which ties in to her Caribbean culture but touches on African roots and London vibes. Music is like air to Chía, she grew up on Soul, R n B, Funky House, Bashment, AfroBeats, and her grandmothers Rice and Peas Reggae selection every Sunday she would sing her heart out during her childhood. She attended The Brits in 2009 and Sylvia Young Theatre School from 2014-2016 because it was apparent she had a talent. It was here that she realised that she wanted to pursue my career in this field. From as young as 12 Chía composed melodies and lyrics together but never really took her music career seriously up until 2022, she believed that she needed to dedicate herself to what she knew she was good at.
Chía The Gift creates a vibrant blend of R&B, Afrobeats, and hip hop, infused with dancehall and soul influences, drawing from her Jamaican and Vincentian heritage.
