For over 25 years, Cochemea has built a distinct career as a soloist, section player, and composer—collaborating with Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Kevin Morby, Run The Jewels, Jon Batiste, Amy Winehouse, The Roots, Mark Ronson, and Quincy Jones. His new album on Daptone Records, Vol. 3: Ancestros Futuros, completes a trilogy that includes All My Relations and Vol. 2: Baca Sewa. Across these works, he interweaves past, present, and future—engaging time as speculative history, moving fluidly between memory and possibility. “A spiritual, psychedelic expedition.” — TIDAL Magazine “Cochemea channels cosmic jazz-funk.” — Rolling Stone “⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Past and future merge in percussion-heavy meditation from veteran saxophonist.” — Mojo Magazine
