Cyanna Mercury
Cyanna Mercury was a rock band from Athens Greece, active for 4 years (2014 - 2017) before going in permanent hiatus. It was put together by brothers Spyreas & Nick Sid, right after disbanding their previous band Cyanna, to pursue a fresh start. After the recruitment of Diamond Pr, Dennis Panagiotidis and Dimitris Vlasopoulos, the quintet introduced itself live for the first time at Ajaccio (FR), in March 2014, performing for French TV show Mezzo Voce. Ode to the Absent Father, a digital double-A single featuring the title track and Dirty Things came out in June 2014. Ιn March 2015, “Dirty Things EP” was released, a limited edition cassette tape featuring both songs of the 2014 single, plus an acoustic version of “Dirty Things” and a live recording of “The Four Horsemen”, a bootleg cover to Aphrodite's Child's classic. During the next three years, Cyanna Mercury opened for Editors (UK), The Raveonettes (DK), Zeal & Ardor (US), Sonic Jesus (IT), The Myrrors (US) and Kikagaku Moyo (JP) and toured extensively in Greece, Cyprus and the Balkans. On November 21st, 2016 Archetypes, the band's debut album was self-released on vinyl & digital, followed by the CD version in May 2017. The Flood, the band's last official recording, was released in September 2017, as part of the compilation "The Sun The Moon The Mountain: A Passage Through Greek Psychedelia" by greek independent label Archaeopia. Syd Session is the latest release, a live acoustic EP recorded in 2016.
