An underground americana artist.
Daniel Vildósola is a Mexican-American composer, guitarist, and producer whose work ranges from intimate, jazz-inflected Americana to expansive, textured soundscapes for film and beyond. Raised in Tucson, Arizona, his sound draws on the region's Latin and Anglo influences, now filtered through his life in London. His ongoing collaboration with saxophonist John Waugh (The 1975) has been described as "cowboy jazz" with train beats and folk melodies swelling into big, ambient washes. Daniel is part of The Overland which offers a haunting and evocative re-imagination of vintage country, and blues. On the other end, he remains a core member of HÆLOS and has contributed to their acclaimed albums Full Circle (2016) and Any Random Kindness (2019). He has performed at major festivals and opened for renowned acts such as Depeche Mode and Interpol. He also tours on pedal steel and guitar with Irish singer-songwriter CMAT performing with her at major stages including Glastonbury and Coachella. Recent film credits include The Deputy, an upcoming thriller starring Duke Nicholson, William H. Macy, and Tiffany Haddish, and Los Hombres De Musgo, a JC Verona documentary that won Best Documentary at Delhi International Short Film Festival. His music has also featured in Netflix's The OA, Control Z, and Terrace House Tokyo. As a studio guitarist, Daniel has recorded with Passenger, Will Young, ONE OK ROCK, Willow Kayne, Ash Minor, and Bea Elmy Martin.
