Innovative trio from Amsterdam with Maarten Ornstein (saxophones, clarinets), Alex Oele (bass), and Eric Hoeke (drums). Just like the olympic 100m dash, a concert by DASH! is a profound, almost physical experience. Audiences love how the band combines complex interplay with a committed yet easy going stage presence. With deceptively simple material, DASH! creates a musical universe all of its own, a universe in which only the notes that matter are played in a highly transparent fashion. This results in a very intense, minimalistic and almost hypnotic band sound filled with moments of uncurbed swing, volcanic eruptions and whispering melodies. DASH! started in 2004 as an octet with 4 singers and percussion added to the trio. Since then the band has released 7 albums: 'DASH!' and 'Bangalore' as an octet and 'Lowpass Heroes', 'DASH! Off', 'Boogie' and 'Rewired' as a trio. The latest album 'Radio Rotor' was released on March 1st 2024 as a digital release paired with the sheet music, so everyone can play the pieces with their own ensemble.
