An underground ambient artist.
Creating electronic soundscapes since 1996, Datadrift is the predominantly instrumental project of Guinevere Molly Campbell. Datadrift takes a hardware-driven approach that is texture-driven and open to improvisation. Occasional vocal layerings come into play in her soundscape work. With influences from 60s-80s psychedelic pop, new wave, and post-punk to Detroit techno minimalism and the many ambient and electronic pioneers, her sound is her own and open to blurring boundaries. Some of her favorite artists include Brian Eno, David Sylvian, Leonard Cohen, The Legendary Pink Dots, Global Communication, Basic Channel, and Kate Bush.
Datadrift creates hardware-driven ambient electronic soundscapes blending Detroit techno minimalism and experimental textures.
