Raised in the musically legendary but financially devastated city of Detroit, Michigan Jordan Rivers moved to Washington DC during the height of the economic recession of 2008. He finds himself uniquely positioned to coexist with and fuse different eras of hip hop by curating soulful vibes of 90's hip hop acts like J Dilla and Tribe Called Quest with the more contemporary coolness of current artists including Anderson .Paak and Dom Kennedy. Jordan Rivers tells real stories of struggle and liberation within a generation that is transforming spiritually and mentally while surviving things like mass incarceration and gentrification.
