No ego. No persona. No hype. Jus' good music.... Dj Tru Blu has been rooted in the music industry for sometime. Transcending from initially being an artist, to a producer, to a dj, he's versed in all the elements that are the foundation of hip-hop effortlessly. From songs w/ Bun-B, to being in a group w/ Bushwick Bill (post Geto Boys), to opening up for superstars such as LL Cool J, Ying Yang Twins, and Mr. Cheeks at the peak of their careers, he's always had a knack for being amongst the most talented creatives in the game. Now a native of Houston, TX after relocating from Louisiana, his influences range from Nas, Tupac, Outkast and UGK, to Wu Tang Clan. His production style often aligns with the Neptunes, as the groove is what drives his song creation, not to mention heavy Ensoniq ASR sounds in his production library. When it comes to creating a track, it's all in the groove. If it feels good, then it has to sound good right? Now a member of the Mixstars/Chopstars Dj collective, one of his main objectives, is to expose and break new artists through the chopped and screwed culture of Houston, and continue the legacy of the city started by the late great Dj Screw. Tru Blu lives by the motto, "All I Do Is Make Good Music... All I Do Is Break Good Music... All you gotta do is Listen!!" Urs Tru-ly.... -Tru Blu
