An underground drone metal act.
The Slovak metal band Doomas began in 2006, evolving from doom metal roots into a powerful entity known for its dark, atmospheric sound and conceptual depth. Key Milestones: Early Years (2006–2011): Formed by Peter "Doomas" Beťko, the band quickly released the promo "Lost Angels" (2006) and their debut album "Seven Sins" (2008) under Gothoom Productions, establishing their presence across Europe. Expansion and Stabilization (2011–2019): After numerous lineup changes, the core duo (Peter and Martin "Kalmi" Kalmancai) stabilized the band with the addition of drummer Erik Sabo (2012) and other members. This period saw the release of the acclaimed album "La Muerte" (2015) and the EP "Portal" (2019), which signaled a shift towards doom-death metal and introduced Lovecraftian themes. The R’lyeh Era (2023): The band made a significant return with the highly anticipated album "R’lyeh" (2023), deepening their exploration of H. P. Lovecraft's mysterious world. The album marked a shift into heavier death metal territory while maintaining their signature atmosphere, and was recognized as one of the top Hard & Heavy albums in Slovakia. Current Status (2024–2025): Doomas is highly active on the European festival circuit, including major events like Brutal Assault, Kaltenbach, and Gothoom Fest. They have embraced a new visual element, incorporating special masks into their live performances to enhance the Lovecraftian and dark atmospheric black metal elements of their sound.
Doomas plays a powerful blend of melodic doom and death metal infused with cosmic nihilism and Lovecraftian themes.
Doomas hails from Nová Baňa, Slovakia.
