Douaa
A nostalgic, underground funk artist.
Douaa is the daughter of renown Moroccan singer Bahija Idriss. Her song "Haditouni" is a wonderful take on the classic Dalida "Parlez moi de lui“. Douaa’s version is magnificently stripped down, jazzy with a charming and engaging mood. It was recorded during a brief visit in Belgium. So far only a single vinyl copy of the original release has shown up and the recording has been largely forgotten. Habibi Funk is honoured to amplify it to new heights again. Taken from the forthcoming compilation "Habibi Funk: An Eclectic Selection from the Arab World (Part 2)".
