An underground indian classical artist.
Eeshar Singh is a Santoor player, composer and performer whose music bridges Indian classical tradition and contemporary sound. Growing up in Yorkshire, his journey began in childhood with a serendipitous encounter with the Santoor that sparked a lifelong dedication to the instrument’s preservation and evolution. A disciple of Ustad Harjinderpal Singh Ji, student of the legendary Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, Eeshar has performed at leading venues including the Barbican Centre’s Darbar Festival, Southbank Centre, Howard Assembly Room, Curve Theatre and Vancouver’s Chan Centre. His debut EP Blossoming (2024) explores stillness, emotion and growth through the Santoor, live strings and Indian classical textures, and has gone on to become a live storytelling performance. For Eeshar, the Santoor is more than an instrument - it is a spiritual companion, a medium for connection. His approach to each raag is like meeting a new friend: patient, curious and transformative. Beyond performance, he composes for film, podcast and stage, with credits including the award-winning Ru, collaborations with Bleeding Fingers Music (LA), and large-scale productions with the Royal Opera House, Royal Northern Sinfonia and Opera North. Through his music, Eeshar creates spaces where sound, story, spirit and stillness are one.
Eeshar Singh plays contemporary Indian classical music centered around the santoor, bridging traditional raags with modern cinematic textures.
Eeshar Singh is originally from Yorkshire, England, growing up in Bradford and Leeds.
