Fabian Klimanek is a Katowice-based trumpeter, composer, and producer who “electrifies” the horn—feeding its sound through samplers, loopers, and live processing to move freely between ambient drift, jazz improvisation, hip-hop pulse, and bursts of noise. He earned an M.A. in jazz trumpet at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music under Piotr Wojtasik and is now completing a second degree in composition and arrangement. Onstage, Klimanek fronts the electronic / jazz collective We Do Not Pretend, cooperates with FERBI and joins Polish rap icons Paktofonika on their live tours. His debut solo album Practice of Silence (2025) is a collage of layered recordings assembled into a single narrative piece—an exercise in stoic calm that invites listeners to hear restraint as its own form of intensity.
