An underground arabic jazz artist from the local scene.
London-based, Palestinian Nay virtuoso and composer Faris Ishaq reimagines the Nay as a self-sustained sonic world. He draws on Palestinian and Arabic musical traditions, refracted through contemporary jazz and cross-cultural dialogue. Pairing the Nay with a leg-mounted frame drum, he blends breath-led improvisation and rhythmic drive across solo, ensemble, and orchestral works. His collaborations include Supplication with Grammy-winner John Patitucci, and he is a featured artist on Assassin’s Creed Mirage. A Berklee Global Jazz graduate, his appearances include Kings Place, Southwark Cathedral, and the London, Panama, and Monterey jazz festivals. His catalog includes three albums alongside A Wildscape Concerto.
