An underground, nostalgic jazz artist.
Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, Saxophonist and Clarinetist Gal Liraz picked up his first instrument at age ten. Under the tutoring of Israeli jazz figures such as Ofer Ganor, Amit Friedman and Amit Golan, he quickly came on to the Tel Aviv jazz scene as a skilled young Saxophonist. In 2009, Liraz moved to Germany to attend the Jazz Institut of Berlin where under the guidance of Greg Cohen, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and Peter Weniger he developed his musicianship further. For the past decade, he has honed his skill as an improviser in Bebop drawing inspiration from the America Song Book & other Jazz Standards. He is based in Berlin, Germany and frequently plays throughout Europe.
